I am looking to get a .357 mag of some flavor and am interested in the model 19. I know it was not designed to shoot full house .357mag loads very often, but how will it hold up to .38slp +p or down loaded .357 loads?

I see alot of them for sale that have been turned into target revolvers, so I infer from this that they are capable of decent accury.

Does anyone have one or know much about them?

This article (http://www.gunblast.com/Butch_MagnumLoads.htm) is a very comprehensive look at the durability issues surrounding S&W K-frames with magnum loads.

I thought the 19 was an L frame? I guess that'll teach me. I figured it was the same as the 586, just without the full underlug.
