Life, Liberty, Etc has posted a video detailing how to assemble an AR-15 lower receiver. The video is 45mb long, but goes into great detail.

This is perfect for people who want to build up a rifle but have no practical experience doing so.

Click Here to Watch (http://www.lifelibertyetc.com/RangeBag/video/LLE_AR15StrippedLower.wmv)

Coupled with ARFCOM's Lower Receiver Guide (http://www.ar15.com/content/guides/assembly/lower/) (Registration Required), there's no reason that any average joe shouldn't be able to build up their very own Forty Year Failure

Great video, are there any like it for assembling the upper receiver?

Thanks. I stumbled upon the videos over at Brownells as well. They are kind of small but seem pretty good. This doesn't look like it will be hard at all, once I get everything together and borrow some tools.

Am I correct in assuming that the reciever block and insert I saw in the brownell's video are unnessecary fluff?

I just got my lower all put together. Between the how-to guide and this video, it was cake. I did lose the spring for the forward take down pin, though.

Once my barrel gets here I will be able to finish putting this together. I'm pretty excited.

Glad to hear that this worked out for you. Take pictures and post them when you finish! (or in progress)

If I can either figure out how to get the pictures off my phone or get my hands on a camera, I will. My camera is on a moving truck and I won't have most of my stuff for another week or two. :(

Ah well. It's a shame we never had a chance to grab a pint when you were in town. How close to Batavia are you?

About three hours from Batavia. I'll probably go back up there (WA) later this year to see some of the guys, we'll have to make up for it then Miso.

My barrel just got here from CMMG. I just gotta get my RAS that I left at my uncle's house last time I was home and a few small bits for the dust cover. And a new spring for the front takedown pin.

I just got the gas tube on after making a punch out of a carpenter's nail. That was more of a pain in the ass than the barrel, easy.
Gotta get that takedown pin spring and handguard and I'll be comfortable test firing it. Then I just have to wait on the dust cover parts to come in and it's done.
