I went and picked up my Smith and Wesson Sigma Pistol today, the model is SW40VE to be exact. It is chambered in 40 S&W, which is A-OK with me since I have a lot of 40S&W ammunition on hand that I use for plinking in lighter loads and in heavier loads for carry.

Here it is in its glory and its two magazines.

This is kinda neat, todays date is 01/24/08, look at the test date:

Standard parts on break down:

My state doesnt trust you to remember if you loaded the pistol or not so we have this handy Chamber Loaded Indicator. I have to be honest and say that I do actually like the feature.:

I'm ready for love and ready to rock:

Is this one of those holiday $99 sigma's? How's the trigger pull?

That looks really nice, but clearly "inspired" by the Glock pistols. The aesthetics are nicer than Glocks, though. Do you know if it can use Glock aftermarket barrels?

Also, can you post a photo of how tightly a round fits into the chamber? ( chamber support )

Yup :D (http://230grain.com/showthread.php?t=191) <-Link]

Just for giggles look at the box size differences:

Havent had a chance to shoot it yet, but the trigger is not as horrific as the internet and other parties had led me to believe. We'll see once I get it some range time though, dry firing is a whole different animal.

I am not sure if they can use Glock barrels, I know the design has changed ever so slightly. But for some interesting trivia if you have both a Glock and a Sigma, you can place the Glock slide on the Sigma frame and vice-versa -hence the giant lawsuit that S&W had issued on it from Glock. S&W later paid Glock for further rights production due to the initial patent infringement lawsuit.

The aesthetics are nice, it feels almost as slim as a p220 or 1911, however the way the frame is designed it leads the finger towards and into the trigger guard despite you keeping your finger straight and on the frame. Its weird, but the grip is more than natural for shooting.

Agreed. I guess the stopped clock of retarded gun legislation had to get something right eventually. CZ really needs to get on chamber viewing ports, not that I could forsee myself using on in lieu of a physical chamber check

This was one of the first guns I fired and I didn't think too much of it. I recall the trigger being really bothersome and the whole thing was rather snappy.
