Match results update!
Patrolman Ears won Marksman CDP.
Tread won Sharpshooter non-Compact.
Scarecrow won Shapshooter SSP.
Rangeboss rplaced middle of the pack in Shaprshooter CDP.

I managed to wrangle up a few deadbeats and corral them to our local IDPA match. What is IDPA? That's another thread. Here's some pictures, video and stage descriptions. Please discuss, comment, etc. Our shooters included your's truly, Tread, Range Boss and Patrolman Ears McTackleberry. We hadn't shot an IDPA in a long time, but everyone had a lot of fun. This was the clubs "Compact Match" so there was a mix of compact glocks and 1911's in our group. We shot the match again with a mix of subcompacts and fullsized guns. These course descriptions may only be semi-accurate, often a stage had multiple strings. Scores will probably be posted in a few weeks. :pissl: Eventually we'll get Highmeh and Biaxident to a match or two.

This stage was a lot of fun. Kick a popper (which exposes a target), retreat to cover, shoot some targets. There was a double swinger with a no shoot in front of it. Good times.

Stage 2:

Engage the targets in order of threat - shotgun, pistol, knife. The targets were shuffled while your back was turned so each string was a surprise.

Stage 3:

A shortened version of Stage 3 of the IDPA classifier. Long distance shooting is always good.

Stage 4:

Headshot's for everyone! This was a great stage, but had a lot of targets and a lot to remember. Knock the poppers down, engage a target on the move, make it to cover, make a head shot, shoot some more, advance some more, make another headshot... Everyone read the course description a half dozen times before things started to click.

Stage 5:

Another fast and furious stage. Shooting through that barrel negated your ability to hear the steel ring. There's a target tucked behing the hay bails that had to be engaged after you score a hit on the big steel squares.

I love the idea of IDPA, but i cant shake the feeling that it is just a training exersize for murdering people in a carnival fun house.

Looks like a hell of a good time. Can't wait.
