neato on the compact hp!! i didn't even know those existed!!! thats pretty badass! i want one!
This S&W M&P 340pd .357 is my pocket pistol. fits very neatly in my front pocket. also works great for those late night trips to the store or gas station. since it's not heavy in the least little bit i can put it in the pocket of some basketball type shorts, or even pajama pants and they don't get pulled down to my ankles by the weight of the gun. I love the little cannon!

Well you can still find P7s in the $700 range, and that Kramer holster is still being made (though they've moved from snaps to screws). The flash light is a $9 flash light from deal extreme, and Im pretty sure you can figure out where to get a Swiss Army Pioneer, and a Panasonic Lumix LX3. Of course, my winter carry piece is much less exotic than the P7.

Last weekend while shooting I broke in and wore a Serpa and a few of my friends made fun of me for it. Bad, bad men. I like the holster but it takes a bit of getting used to with the rapid draw. I prefer a thumb break paddle for winter carry and leather. Everything is better with leather.

The only complaints I have heard about the Serpas are that "they're dangerous because the pressure from your trigger finger could continue to fall during deployment and cause a negligent discharge." I don't see how. First of all, it doesn't take "pressure" to activate the retention button, just a properly placed trigger finger aimed to land on the slide. Even if you did press down with everything you've got, I don't see how you would pull the trigger, unless you have one of those new guns with the trigger on the middle of the slide.

Maybe I don't have a problem with it because I carried Condition 1 EVERYWHERE when I was in the military (can't let anyone steal the exposives, even in training...actually, especially in training  ). I have been so brainwashed into pistol safety that don't know how to hold a pistol without my trigger finger properly placed on the slide. In other words, it's a training issue and anyone carrying should be training anyway.

I say the people who think Serpas are unsafe, are unsafe. The best safety on any gun is between your ears.

As fas as "everything being better in leather", putting a polymer framed XD in a leather Galco would be like wearing a bow-tie to a construction site. It just doesn't "match."

The year, 1911:

The 1911 American Automobile Manufacturing Co, American was produced.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z93/markquimby82/1911-Automobile.jpg

The American was made by the American Automobile Manufacturing Co, New Albany, Indiana. It had a two-stroke four cylinder motor that produced 50 hp and boasted a top speed of 58 mph. It sold for a steep $4250.00 USD.
Chick Factor: Low. Unfortunately these cars aren't very practical in a time where the average highway speed is a third higher than the top speed of this specimen. Girls don't like when you're late or when you smell like oil and leaded gasoline. Don't you care about the Polar bears, you carbon stomping panda-raper???

The Colt 1911A1 was produced.

http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z93/markquimby82/gunColtm1911groupwithwatch-1.jpg

John M. Browning designed the firearm which was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985. It fires a .45 caliber round and weighs as much as the car mentioned earlier in this post.
Chick factor: Low. I know, shocker huh? Girls don't care about history. Girls don't care about tradition. Girls don't want you hiding your 85 lb pistol in their purse to sneak it into the Saint's game at the Super Dome.

The Year, 1999

The Pagani Zonda C12 S 7.3 was produced.

http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e71/Green46L/pagani_zonda_c12-s-73-2.jpg

Pagani is an Italian company that manufacturers carbon fiber and supercars. They started producing the Zonda in 1999, and only 10 units ship every year (at $400,000 a pop more or less).

Design: As you can imagine from a company that produces carbon fiber, most of the body parts of the Zonda are done with that material. It has a coupe style, with 2 seats, and very characteristic placement of side mirrors and front lights.

Performance: The C12 S 7.3 version comes with a mighty 7.3-litre engine. It is one of the biggest 12-cylinders engine ever produced. It has an output of 555 bhp and a top speed of 220 mph (350 km/h).

Chick Factor: High. Despite being a racing machine, the style of this car is quite appealing (we love Italy don’t we?). It also reveals how much it costs at a first sight (and most women get turned on by that).

The HS2000 (XD) was produced.

http://i145.photobucket.com/albums/r240/sfcjescorrea/guns/SANY0013.jpg

The HS2000 traces its roots back to a service pistol known as the PHP (Prvi Hrvatski Pištolj or First Croatian Pistol), which was first produced in Croatia by privately owned industrial parts firm I. M. Metal in 1991. Designed by a team led by Marko Vuković, the PHP was considered to be a solid design, but early versions were plagued by quality issues, due in large part to the difficulties of manufacturing during the Croatian War of Independence. Vuković's team continued to tweak and improve the design over the next decade, releasing the HS95 (Hrvatski Samokres or Croatian Pistol) in 1995, and the HS2000 in 1999.

The HS2000 was adopted by the Croatian military and law enforcement as a standard issue sidearm and continues to fill that role today. The pistol was initially exported to the US market by Intrac and distributed by HSAmerica who sold the pistol in 9 mm as the HS2000.

In 2002, Springfield Armory, Inc. negotiated licensing rights to the US market, and changed the name to the XD-9 (X-treme Duty 9x19mm). Springfield Armory has since expanded the line to include seven models in three different calibers and five different cartridges, four barrel lengths, and four finishes (black, bi-tone, olive drab frame, and the newest dark earth frame). The industry press awarded the XD the title of Handgun of the Year from both American Rifleman magazine and The Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence. The XD series of pistols won Handgun of the Year again in 2009.
Chick Factor: High. While most females don't care much about many of our toys, they do appreciate color coordination. My XD 40 tactical with an OD frame sure does look good in some dark jeans and an earth tone shirt...I'm just sayin'.

I have seen that video and I actually sort of tried this with a fobus (which is weaker than my serpa) just to see if it was safe for me to use. I found that I couldn't break it without both hands and about 15 seconds. I'm not superman by any means but I ain't no slouch either. It stands to reason that the holster in the video had either been tampered with or was of supremely poor quality. Even if a person could break my holster with one hand, I don't think they could do it fast enough for me not to counter with a step behind elbow strike to the throat take down. Also, it may be worth mentioning that the Fobus paddle holsers are plastic, not kydex. This makes them less rigid and they will lose their retention faster than a kydex but they also bend before they break. The Serpa line is injection molded polymer as well but with carbon fiber reinforcement (aka, strong).

Leather is a dead cow's ass.

I'm not really sure how to answer this. :) It shoots well, I guess? It fits my hands well and the price was right.

My only complaints with the P6 were that the DA trigger was a little heavy and the straight-black sights were difficult to shoot with. Fixed the first by installing a stock P225 mainspring, fixed the second with some Heinie Straight-Eights.

This is the only centerfire semiauto I've ever owned, so I don't have a lot to compare it to. I've shot other people's Glocks and XDs and I'm not sure if I like having their mediocre pull every shot, or the heavier DA messing up my first shot with a crisp SA after that. Compared to a friend's PX4, the DA pull is not great but the SA trigger is miles better.

Nice.

I OC'd in NH a few years ago. Being from MA I expected people to wig out, expected to be proned on the sidewalk or 'spoken to' since I was near a more or less liberal section of the state. Turns out no one gave a hoot at all. Gas station, grocery store, liquor store. No one batted an eyelash. It was insanely normal.

Open carry used to be difficult here in Alabama due to the vague oc laws here and the lack of education with regard to LEOs. Everyone seems to be on the same page now and it has become pretty painless. You get a few strange looks from time to time.....but it's amazing how hobos and thugs leave you alone. Who'da thought.....

I have 4 Main Carry Weapons. Depending upon which side of town I’m in I may be found with the S&W 4043 in the glove box. Either the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan in .44 MAG , a Ruger SP 101 .357 Cal, or a SIG P-239 in 9mm as a main gun. Weather and how I’m dressed are also taken into consideration. The Ruger LCP .380 goes along as a BUG or sometimes flies solo.

How does that Redhawk handle?

On the range I run .44 REM MAG, SP 240 grs rounds through her. For concealed carry she's got Gold Dot 44 Rem Mag 210 grain GDHP. The Hogue grips reduce recoil. I've had .357 Caliber guns with more kick to them. With a 2.5 in barrrel she's of course a more up close and personal kind of gal. A bit difficult for concealed carry in the summer but with a jacket or vest I can carry her about in either a shoulder holster or a OWB holster in the fall and winter.

Here are my EDC guns. I carry the Smith&Wesson M&P 40C in a CrossBreed Supertuck holster,

and for those lighter days, I carry the Smith&Wesson Bodyguard 380 in either a pocket holster or in a Bulldog pouch holster.

Still looking for a way to conceal the Smith and Wesson M&P 15....

Not a bad Trio of S&Ws. Good luck on finding a way to conceal the M&P 15.

Good luck on finding a way to conceal the M&P 15.

I foresee lots of Duct-tape and sharpie in the works...or eXtreme open carry. :hihi:
