View Full Version : Jeeze Blazer Brass is Freaking Dirty

I was out at the range getting some trigger time on my Safari Arms 1911 and trying to resolve my habit to break my wrist down when I shoot 45ACP (I was shooting very nice 4" groups at 25y, but the center of the group was 6" short of the X ring). I was running some Blazer Brass I snagged for a very reasonable price and boy was I surprised when I saw how dirty it was.

I'm used to shooting Federal American Eagle, which isn't the world's cleanest ammunition, or my father's very nice handloads but this is just silly. It reminds me of that wolf stuff I feed my AKs and ARs, only in a lovely brass case. At least it shoots well.

Yeah, I'm always looking for fodder for my .45's and I passed on the Blazer at Wal-Mart today.
Only dirter ammo I've found was Ultramax.

I'd keep shooting Blazer Brass if I could keep getting it for less than $.20/round. I'll just shoot up what I have on hand and save my Winchester Whitebox and Federal American Eagle for a rainy day.

At least it goes bang and hits the target every time. That's the most important part, right?

I was going to make mention of that but didnt want to start an ammo tiff. I shoot WWB exclusively, not that I am a snob by any means, but its normally available in quantity and its clean. The availability went down somewhat but its still nice and clean ammo and in a bind is durable carry ammo.

As long as my ammo doesn't do this:

Or in any other way cause damage to me or my gun I'm happy.

What the heck? Where is the rest of the case?

Most likely still in the chamber.

I believe you're right. I saw this gun at the range (with it's owner, he was fine) and all I had my proper camera but like an idiot I forgot my memory card and my spare.

The Blazer made me dry heave, but that got canceled by my scrotum pushing past my pelvis after viewing the KB. Talk about hairy.

The KB or the scrotum?
