I've been kicking this idea around in my head for a while ever since I decided to become a scenester fuck and bought an iPOD. I usually get extremely relaxed when I go shooting, it's a catharsis for me. Another catharsis is listening to music. I was thinking Gregorian Chants or Downtempo, something relaxing. The safety issue comes to mind, the earbuds would of course go under the earmuffs. I don't think my range has any prohibition against it, because I'm sure it's never come up before. Do any of you gents listen to tunes while projecting lead down range?

I haven't tried yet, but I recently got some digital earmuffs and I might give it a whirl if I can locate my iPod earbuds.

I'm too busy trying to listen to range commands to jam out to beats. Safety is overrated anyway!

I have the luxury of not having range officers all up in my shit for the most part. I rarely go to a range that is actively monitored, since the FOP usually only posts an officer for the non-member course and leaves the member sections to themselves, unless there's a specified event going on.

It's a bad idea, because you can't hear people calling ceasefire.
If you're at your own range or on your own rural land then no big deal, I guess.

Its a horrific idea in my opinion as you are introducing a distraction into an activity that leaves no room for error as the result of distraction. You need to be able to hear things through your ear protection such as ceasefires, holds, waits, etc... and what about, not to be insulting, what about if someone walks up behind you to get your attention?

All it takes is carelessness to do something stupid, and doing stupid things with gun leads to bad shit like NDs.
I got distracted once talking to some friends packing up my guns at the range one time and, cleaning my guns back home, found a live 8mm round in one of the mausers. Introducing distraction even in something as simple as putting your guns away can just lead to bad shit. Music would probably be horrible for this.

No. I'd have trouble hearing over ALL THE DAMN GUNSHOTS.
